Volunteering at Hexham
Volunteering with Endurance GB has never been so easy! Each ride which takes place, where ever it may be in the country, relies on Volunteers to ensure the ride can run and we, at Northumberland & Tyneside are forever grateful to those who give up their time for our sport!
At each ride there are lots of different roles that need carrying out.
Technical Volunteers:
Timekeepers, recording the times riders arrive
and depart so we know who is out on course
Vet Writers, recording the veterinary comments
as each horse is checked before, during and after the
ride.
Course Volunteers:
Course Markers, following the course plan to mark the designed route for the riders and demark post ride.
Venue CoOrdinator, designing a well planned venue and setting up for the day.
Administrative Volunteers:
Vet Steward, responsible for the smooth running
of the vetting area and checking horses in for vetting
Check Point Steward, responsible for checking a
riders progress round the route.
Safety Volunteers:
Stewards, helping riders negotiate busy roads,
difficult gates or water crossings
Parking stewards are needed to ensure all
vehicles are parked safely and in the correct place.
All jobs are important, all helpers are important and they all contribute to a safe event which all can enjoy.
